"How can you say a depression is coming if you can't define depression?"

The devious mind is more devious than yours CB.

This works perfectly: I predict the future to be XX. I confess my lack of understanding of the term XX. In the future I declare that I was correct, and that I have also learned. My new understanding is that the precise definition of XX is what I see today.

So I was correct, and I have learned something. I am doubly smart.

Of course, while it is inconveniently difficult to define XX by what one sees today, one can always (a) wait knowing the stopped clock effect is on my side, or (b) hope everyone forgets. It is darned inconvenient to be too precise or memorable therefore -g-
