I have been in many discussions lately that have had to do with what people expect from computers in the business community. One common note in every discussion was the agreement that while performance and price are important, by far the most crucial of all factors is reliability. For most of us when our computer locks or crashes we shrug it off and reboot. That is the nature of desktop computing. In the business community when a computer crashes it is costing the business money. That, in most cases, is unacceptable. I can tell you from personal experience that when dealing with people who buy hundreds of system for business use as workstations or servers, they often tell me to forget about saving money and to just make sure I get the most stable hardware available. They have money, but what they don’t have is the time to troubleshoot nagging issues. In the time I tested the XEONS and the DX400-SN I did not encounter one stability issue. There were no lockups, no errors, no crashes, and no failed boot attempts. It was the easiest testing I have ever done. And while this is EXPECTED from hardware that costs this much money and is targeted at the workstation / server market, it is still nice to see that stability wasn't sacrificed for performance or price.
