"biz.yahoo.com Monday May 21, 9:06 am Eastern Time Press Release Intel Launches 'Macroprocessing' Ad Campaign Campaign Marks Important Year For Intel-Based Servers SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 21, 2001--Intel Corporation announced today that it is launching a business-focused ad campaign to emphasize how benefits of the microprocessor, such as volume economics, performance leadership and industry innovation, are being extended to meet the demands and opportunities of servers in the Internet-enabled enterprise. The campaign's theme, ``Macroprocessing,'' is a play on the word microprocessing and reflects how these benefits are being delivered to large-scale enterprise computing. The campaign uses comparisons, such as a jet ski with an ocean liner and a set of headphones with a wall of speakers, to illustrate the difference between personal and enterprise-class computing. The campaign stresses that choosing Intel architecture processors to power enterprise servers is a strategic decision that can benefit a company's long-term success. Intel's Macroprocessing campaign marks an important year for Intel as the company introduces a record number of products for the server market segment, including the new Intel® Xeon(TM) and Intel® Itanium(TM) processors. The multi-million dollar campaign will comprise print, outdoor, and online advertising elements. Print advertisements will begin in the United States on May 23; ads will break in Asia and Latin American in June and in Europe in September. The campaign was created by Messner Vetere Berger McNamme Schmetterer/EURO RSGG, New York. Intel-based solutions are championed by the Intel® e-Business Network (IeBN), a 55,000-strong network of hardware manufacturers, developers, service providers, consultants, and resellers throughout the world.
