darrell.... grove and intc are true product manufacturers. dell is an assembler....

major difference, no comparison....

intc never really got into "price wars", sold the product not as a commodity but on technical merits....and secured end users based on that strategy...

Intel used to introduce those spiffy new 'top of the line' PC chips at around a grand, now that AMD has made inroads P4 high end chips are 'introduced' at $350 bucks. Perhaps Intel is going thru that 'transformation' also.
