Products like the Digital Picture Frame and Intel's Tablet will not be successful is just my opinion. I am much less than 100% sure. We can only wait and see.

If you are saying that R&D spending is a little on the high side then perhaps I could agree with that.
With new products, there is sales/marketing/support staff besides devlopers. I would say that the overall cost structure is too high. It appears that so many embedded products are on an evolution path rather than revolution. I think the management needs to get a bit more down to earth about it. This restructuring will solve some of these problems.
