"The problems will be worked out."
----------

Why?

Why will they be worked out?

Is it because so much time and money has already been invested that problems will ultimately go away?

Why?

Is it because so much time and money may still be invested that problems must ultimately go away?

Why?

Why will additional time and money prove more substantive, more productive, than than this month's time and money?

Why will the epiphany arrive during next month's research? ..next year's? ..within the next five?

Why?

Do they really understand, as yet, what's going wrong?

Publicized reports would suggest no.

If they fix problems presently in the spotlight, will they be the last problems of a debilitating nature?

Why?

Do you place confidence in the quality and viability of the standard specification - Release 99?

Is this the same Release 99 that is still receiving corrections and modifications totaling in the dozens every month?

Or do you prefer to place confidence in the quality and viability of the newly approved foundation specification - Release 4 ---- that it will resolve problems inherent with Release 99?

Is this the same Release 4 that is already receiving corrections and modifications totaling in the dozens every month?

Is this the same Release 4 for which a new 3GPP Discussion Group has been recently created to begin deciding how to test - well after its inception and approval?

How did 3GPP members know that the specification technology was credible in order to approve the standard without testing? If they were sure of the viability of the specification technology prior to approval, why test now?

When will there be a stable, viable UMTS specification with which to construct a stable, viable network?

Who can say.
