S100,

<< who are all these guys and gals, do I care or just that the stuff they write is somewhat correct. >>

Good question.

Setec SIM cards? Setec has been around for a fair bit and probably has at least 1% of the SIM card market in the world. Wait till Qualcomm runs into the Setec USIM and starts dealing with SIMs from half a dozen manufacturers.

<< said Hugh Brogan, chief executive of British mobile phone maker Sendo >>

Another powerhouse.

Where oh where do they come up with this stuff?

<< The very small monochrome screen means that a lot of scrolling is required to read email messages or Web pages. >>

Heck, sounds like my old my Audiovox CDM900, or my older yet Qualcomm QCP860.

WAP Sucks! Sorry Ilmarinen.

No more WAP for me. Ever! Not even WAP 2.

"This is not magic, it takes time to test the phones and networks," said Lauri Kivinen

Why does this point of view somehow seem to be culturally
biased in favor of finns??

While the transatlantic angloamerican is more in terms of
"are we there yet" from the backseat, except for
some who actually soil there hands by doing some
useful work??

All according to the transatlantic media, of course..

Nokia is doing better and better in basestations
(Ultra), and rumours are Nokia is going to take an even
higher marketshare because of the smart system design
and by focusing on fast time to market as well as
upgradability.

It is pretty interesting how all these transatlantic
guys and girls articles use the same style, sentences and words,
get all the same things wrong, as if they all just
had come out of the same propaganda factory.

Using the transatlantic military propaganda as
guidence it would predict something major will happen
within 0.5 year (the time it takes for repetetive
propaganda to claim it is selfevident) but maybe this
is just a defensive maneuver, save what still can be
saved and delay any possible IPOs, avoid agressive
mergers.

Anyway, must be something important as that much ammunition
and coordinated effort is wasted making up all that magic.

infra sharing: mast sharing is already yesterday stuff,
initial sharing of the full infra a matter of agreeing on
the rules, the time frame, the step to regular competing
networks, a giant puzzle, chess game where the next
5-7 moves must be considered before the first can be made.
(also interesting that so few articles have mentioned
this "initial sharing")
