I must admit to having little sympathy for extremism of any stripe. Perhaps it's because I'm aware of my own imperfections.

We're all imperfect. It's one thing to make unintentional mistakes, or show poor judgement. It's another to deliberately game the system or flaunt the rule of law, because you know your position or office will protect you.

That's not a little imperfection, in my book.
