For the most part (emphasize the most part), I've never understood concerns about privacy


Then, you should not opt out and thereby permit your brokerage (and whoever may buy them) to spew information about you all over. That is your choice. But do not assume that the costs of products you will buy will be less. You brokerage will no longer need your permission to cast your personal information to Rajala and the like. So, it will not need to procure your permission to do so.
