Ali, so the throttling being not reversible is an errnoneous report?
That sounds plausible as I feel intel would have tested this aspect before release.
As for the force into the mode by air flow limiting causing the mode to be only activated for 5 ms?? I feel the thermal repsonse would be far slower than that. This means that the shutdown circuit must have a pre-programmed interval to shuttle between the two speeds(10% and 50%) with a certain duty cycle depending on the temperature sensed.
I had a soldering iron like that. Turn a knob and adjust the duty cycle of the 120 VAC into it and the tip temp varied accordingly, of course a lot depended on the useage cycle of the iron, same for the CPU, a lot depends on the task. A high heat task may spand a far higher % in the 50% mode.
