I cite, of course, late Weimar/early Nazi Germany, as well as Russia immediately after the Great Revolution. For extra credit, see Mao's Great Cultural Leap Forward. The human race and its irritating realities were a nuisance to the argument each time. The needs of people and their precious liberty (Yeah, that includes property rights-the great left-wing nightmare) were simply "in the way" of the greater good, as defined by the Movement.
