CNBC on Friday had a mention by one of their analysts that picked IVAN[Nasdaq,IE-TSE] as the stock to buy this week. Raging Bull thread picked this up yesterday and one poster gave a good summary of IE's potential early yesterday.Suggest you go there and as well to Ivanhoe's web page.
In our opinion the timetable for really relevant events are still a few months away but that the stock price drifted down from a combination of the length of the time frame and the selling of one US Fund the last two weeks-look at selling by Peter Brockerage house consistently over the last few weeks. That seems to have dried up and the gap yesterday on the US side held quite nicely from a technical point of view.
The stock is fair valued at $7-9.00 CND but as we get closer to start of deep drilling in California [first shallow well was obviously a dud] we should see some speculative increase in the share price.
Having said the above ,first official announcement of liquification contracts in Qyatar[sic] or Egypt could give a bump up for the stock but remember it will take a few years construction before revenues occur from that area.
Texas and Chinese developments COULD accelerate the revenue flows to IE more quickly ,although the recent first quarter results were a dissapointment.
Best we can say for now. We have our seed position in place at lower prices and had added in last couple of weeks with the drop to $5.15.May use that position as a trading vehicle but will certainly maintain our seed position.
Do further DD and make your own evaluations. Would like to hear your opinion.
