Not true in many places, Scumbria. Usually predators keep up, even in urban areas. Besides, a surplus of deer means a surplus of predator food. Coyotes, in particular, adapt well to civilization. Of course, down where you live there are lots of people building their houses out in the mountain lion country. I expect the cats will pay.
