When the core at TMI started melting down, that made folks a tiny bit nervous. It could have been a huge disaster.

Ah, France, that paragon of nuclear virtue. Having trouble disposing of the nuclear waste lately?? Hmmm? Germany not accepting it anymore?? How's that uranium mining operation going? Had to shut it down completely?? Cheaper coming from Australia, right?

At least they don't dump in the ocean anymore, which they did throughout the 70's. Remember the shots of those corroding drums of nuclear waste on the ocean bottom? They were French.
