I suggest we do not engage in the same dehumanization of Muslims that only some Muslims engage in. Most Muslims are not infected with the xenophobic virus the Talaban suffer from. Pakistan even ad women as prime minister. Egypt , Turkey and many other Muslim countries are completely secular societies. Without the contributions of Islam to the human culture, we may still be reading books from parchments (and only very few of us would be literate) and unable to solve the simple algebraic problem (even the word "algebra" comes from Arabic). Painting the strange deviations of some Muslims as if they were an intrinsic Islamic feature is not only wrong, but is simply bigoted. For instance, there are countless Muslim religious leaders voicing oppositions to the suicidal bombing of civilian targets, both on the ground that suicide is against the Sharia and on the ground that Muslim's tradition as well as the Koran forbid the killing of women and children in any type of conflict. The Koran is quite specific about not allowing children under a certain age from being "combatants".
