I'm hoping we will hear more on the CC

about how CTP consultants will get enough up to speed to go after this market. If the Novell enterprise portal ever catches on, with the ability of employees to work from any desk anywhere, it would put Novell back into the picture bigtime.

================

On the www.novell.com connection problem: Unbelievable but I can connect in explorer but not in netscape! I upgraded my Winme system with the latest patches a few days ago. Could those SOBs at MSFT have introduced another gremlin? ---- This is enough to make you paranoidmal.

I'd say that providing services via the Directory to users and applications (both?) is "the key" for Novell. Remember, an application and/or a user without services is not as effective or productive.....just my two cents worth :)

What are some services?
File sharing, printing, remote access, authentication, encryption and on and on......

To me, an application is a product while an application with a service(s) geared to a specific end is a solution and in the end, customers NEED solutions. Novell needs to get away from merely creating applications and move into providing services and applications that customers can build solutions with.

Of course no matter what the semantics are - directory services is the glue that binds it all together.
