You're right, NEOT is on the fringe. I thought that the potential of what they had would have generated a lot of debate in the research community. I see that it is a pretty complex situation, including investments in other approachs, concerns about proprietary information, and academia vs commercial publishing customs that explains some of it. There are lots of companies working on promising products so Neotherapeutics is not as unique as I once thought it was. Maybe that's why they stayed so far below the radar.

Many long term stockholders, facing a long term decline in the stock price, death spiral financings, dilution, and a management that is out of touch with their shareholders, find it impossible to sustain any loyalty to them. It would be better to step aside and let someone else absorb these losses.
