A plot of only arrays that are powers of two would look significantly different than a plot of arrays in 4KB sized steppings Ah, that sounds very likely, actually. I wonder if we could ask anand how he ran that earlier benchmark. So, probably all P4s exhibit this ringing... would the larger L1 of the athlon and the P3 explain why they don't exhibit similar behavior? Doug
