Thirty users through one DSL Connection.. One DSL Modem, with a piece of Cat 5 plugged into the router, Then 3 pieces of Cat. 5 plugged into Three of these Airport type devices. You set up you TCP/IP setting for Configure IP Address. to "DHCP Server" and that's all it takes.. Complete independent anonymous log in's

I currently have Seven devices on my 802.11.. 2 Desktops, 2 Laptops, 2 PDA's, and my neighbor uses his Desktop on it..

Read this statement from the Merril article agian...

"According to Merrill Lynch, Toshiba, Dell, IBM and Compaq are promoting 802.11b-enabled laptops, Intel has dropped HomeRF for 802.11b, Microsoft has decided to include 802.11b but not Bluetooth support in Windows XP, and Handspring has been talking about 802.11b wireless capability into its personal digital assistants (PDAs), not Bluetooth."

.. All these Laptop/PDA makers are looking to build 802.11-enabled laptops.. Not just plug in cards.. But, actually enabled in the Laptop when you buy it.. I always thought (Foolish Me) that was what Qualcomm wanted to do with CDMA chips!!

And look at the automotive industry!!

Delphi and 3Com Corporation (NASDAQ: COMS) demonstrated the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) 802.11b wireless networking technology and Internet radio technology during 2001 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this January.

802.11b is a critical technology enabler to allow consumers to download compressed digital audio and video information through a wireless local area network between their vehicles and the home or office. Delphi and 3Com's 802.11b network will allow for a wireless exchange of information at speeds up to 11Mbps. The technology is expected to be available to consumers within the next 12 to 24 months. "
