You're right, I missed the Netherlands. Queen Beatrice, if my memory serves? Probably I'm wrong -- I don't keep up on the monarchy as I should. <g>

But I thought Norway had dispensed with their king. But on a search I see I'm wrong. Though maybe they aren't the best example of a stable, respected monarchy:

But I agree with our main point --stable, responsibile monarchies seem to have an amazingly close correlation with nice countries to live in.

This might make an interesting thesis topic for a student with a major in political science and a minor in sociology, or cultural anthropology.
