It is wrong to say that you cannot replace God unless you have something to replace God with. Some people may be afraid to admit that their crutch is unnecessary. For some it might be inexpedient to admit that their crutch is unnecessary. But that does not mean that they can not dispose of their crutch, only that they will not. Maybe the ones that don't need a "crutch" have the real problem. What would that problem be? I dumped the crutch a long time ago, and haven't noticed any problem yet.
