Correction: Medinex Systems, Inc's symbol is MDNX, not MTNX (MeltroniX). MDNX's suit against Yahoo! posters was dropped due to the efforts of EFF.org. MTNX's lawsuit, announced in April against Raging Bull posters, is still ongoing.

Medinex reports $1.62 million loss

Earnings roundup

From staff and wire reports

Medinex Systems Inc. lost $1.62 million during the first quarter, the company reported this week.

The loss amounted to 13 cents per share, and compares with a $6.1 million loss in the first quarter of 2000.

The Post Falls company, which lost more than $30 million last year, was recently dropped from the Nasdaq stock exchange for failing to meet Nasdaq's minimum trading requirements. It now trades on the Over the Counter Bulletin Board, under the symbol MDNX.OB. Shares closed at 16 cents Thursday.

In February, Medinex sold all of its political and public policy division to a Delaware company, Votenet Solutions Inc., for $1.15 million in cash. The company took a $9.2 million charge on its fourth quarter earnings, reflecting losses from the discontinued operations.

Medinex retained its health care technology side.
