08:31 ET Semi Equipment : Bear Stearns' Ripple Effect says that book-to-bill of 0.42 in April will likely disprove the
view that the worst is behind us, and notes that the NVLS mid-qtr update is May 31 and that there may be some risk to
estimates. An alternative view comes from ABN AMRO, which cheers the terrible book/bill number as evidence that the
bottom in orders will come in Q2, a quarter earlier than expected; reiterates BUY ratings on NVLS, AMAT, LRCX,
KLAC, CYMI and ups price targets by 25% on average.
