TOKYO (CBS.MW) -- Sega's shares fell nearly 7 percent Wednesday after the company said its losses widened last business year due to costs related to getting out of the game machine business.

After the market closed Tuesday, Sega posted a group net loss of 51.73 billion yen ($420.6 million) for the year ended March 31, against the previous year's loss of 42.88 billion yen. The results came as little surprise as the company had issued a January warning of a 58.3 billion yen loss.

But Sega, which scrapped its loss-making Dreamcast game console business in January, said expects to return to the black in the current year through March as it focuses more on the profitable software and game arcade businesses.
