When bulls like Larry all base their argument on TA...

Sam, in general I agree with you because I'm personally a FA type. However, Larry has been correctly bearish until just recently, so I've decided I need to pay more attention to TA. As he says, the market is usually an efficient discounter of where we will be in 6-9 months. If we wait until FA is perfectly clear to all, we will be 6-9 months late. Of course we are already about 6 months late in terms of AMAT's apparent low in late November!

I don't live in Silicon Valley so I'm obviously insulated from the high tech recession. Back here in the hinterlands of NC, this just doesn't feel like a severe recession. People are still building new houses, buying cars, cell phones, etc. and there are still plenty of jobs going begging. Technology is marching on because Moore's law doesn't care whether we are in a recession or not, and I see more and more reports of companies forging ahead on 300mm (believe CHTR was the latest).

Repeat after me: "Don't fight the Fed and don't fight the tape."
