Solon, a fascinating article.
I must admit that although I knew the gospels were later work, I'd never looked into that. Nevertheless, I'd assumed (because I've heard as received wisdom) that the existence of some one called Jesus Christ, his life as an active preacher, and possibly his crucifixion were all attested historical facts... really interesting.

Out of objectivity, then, can any of the Xtians here point me to a refutation of Solon's link, or show me where assertions made in it are demonstrably incorrect? infidels.org
(no, I don't accept the bible as a refutation... it's the case at issue).

All that and you still couldn't just come out and say you were wrong. Although, I would hardly accept y'r characterization of me as "titillated". Mildly amused is more like it.

"There are no mentions of any existing gospels before about 150 BC. And the only place we find any of it in history is when we find myths copied from older religions before the alleged life of Jesus. "

U'r always beginning yor sentences with and. And it's very annoying, so cut it out, or the language police will get U.

But seriously, where do you get this stuff? There are virtually no serious scholars, even those of the Jesus seminar, far left atheist types who deny that Jesus lived and died, and that the central message of the early church was that He rose again. As far as 150 B.C. goes that would take us into a discussion about prophecy, but if you meant A.D then just say "I'm sorry, I was wrong, yet again, I made a simple mistake, I really meant to say A.D.". And then we can discuss why yu'r wrong on the merits of that argument as well.

Just Greg.
