Scum,

<SPEC is important for P4, but not important for Itanic.
Clock Speed is important for P4, but not for PIII.>

"But I want my cake and I want to eat it too!? Bwaaah!"

Positioning? Well Itanium is for floating point with world-shattering
encryption/decryption. Cheaper than RISC. Let's be generous and
say Itanium out of the blocks does 800 SpecFp2000 (someone isn't
obedient and runs SpecFp, naughty!). Now we have a lever to at least
sneak an Itanium in the door (it is faster than the much cheaper P4).
Elsewise, you must buy the 1.7 P4 as it has excellent Fp and you
certainly wouldn't buy an Itanium if P4 beats it, would you? Wait.
The other angle is "larger address space." Okay.
Guess that includes a great many, NOT!

So P4 doesn't dare compete with Itanium? Only RISC workstations?
Position that for us! Ha.

Very nasty pincers here I would say. Nasty indeed.
