Hoffman at WitSoundView has been the leading critic of QCOM over the past six months,

This is why I thought his shift is notable (more than most of the consistent pro or anti-QCOM analysts).

I read his report and his reasons for being neutral on QCOM were short-term issues of inventory in channels, etc., which have since proved to be accurate. His shift away from the short-term issues onto longer term "promise" is definitely positive.

Now I hope the markets (for product and stock) confirm him on the upside like they did on the downside<g>.
