One of the ways to implicitly say "I'm wrong" is by moving away from the topic. We are not talking about population growth, but about the encouragement of oil production (with minimal impact) when other alternatives are available.

I already gave possible solutions to population growth earlier. It's a great problem for environmentalist, and I don't know what the different groups are doing to tackle this issue. But this problem is more related to deforestation and/or therefore water pollution. Forests (greenery) limits the damage oil creates, but an argument can be made on many fronts, as practically all items on earth are interconnected .
