My point is I don't think Buffett would agree that the "only numbers that really count" are the current bid/ask. If those were the only numbers worth thinking about, why would anybody ever buy a stock thinking intrinsic value was higher than the quote, or sell a stock thinking intrinsic value was less than the market.

Of course, if one thinks fundamental analysis is hogwash, then maybe the market quote is all that matters. But I don't think Buffett could be accused of thinking that.
