Carolyn, you know I respect your opinion but in this case, I must disagree. What is at stake is power. Power to make things happen. We need to do whatever we need to do to win. The other side will. Remember how low they were willing to go with the impeachment matter? Remember what they did to Bork? John Tower? Clarence Thomas? These people do not respect or practice good manners or behavior. They must be defeated. Their tactics must be matched or we will all lose. JLA

And you haven't noticed that the enemy fights more effectively by being obnoxious (as one of their more acceptable qualities)? We all had a good time being nice and pretending thing like that Jeffords was something other than a slimy liberal. But Impeachment and Florida changed all that. It's a more realistic world now. If you advocate using courtesy as a WEAPON, and can sell us on its effectiveness, that's fine. Otherwise you are wasting everyone's time.
