Weren't the Chinese involved with him fairly early on? I believe he had a couple of political setbacks in Arkansas where he was elected out of office once, if that's what you refer to as clawing. He had political sponsorship from early in his college career, note the several draft avoidances. I would prefer they do their clawing in private sector first. Any idiot who thinks an additional 8.5% payroll tax won't hurt the economy should've been thrown out of office in his first term.
