Slacker,

<< I know that this guy has been pretty negative about Qualcomm in the past, >>

He sure has. That makes this very good news.

Also, good news about Ericsson who has been practically invisible with CDMA handsets till now,

I am a little leery about the MSM5100 shipping in production. Hope it is, but sampling was announced just mid-April and I'm tying that in with the comment "we believe MSM 3300-based phones should be widely available for Christmas", which implies to me that they aren't widely available right now. It is odd that he places the MSM3300 under "1xRTT technology" unless he means the MSM3300 based MSM5100.

Good news if even the MSM5105 is shipping in production quantities already.

I'll take the MSM5100 widely available by Christmas. Now would be a bonus, but I think that is highly unlikely.

I think yes to your VZ/PCS question.

- Eric -

slacker,

Yes you can glean some little nuggets. Apparently he's still a tad bearish (or uninformed) when he makes statements that QUACOMM is"faced with a maturing market in the US" ,or this beauty of a closing sentence, "However, with twice the voice capacity and twice the data speeds, 1XRTT should prove to be a
formidable competitor in the main market where it competes with GPRS - the U.S. ".
