i can just imagine all the retired folks, doctor's wives and housewives who called their broker to place a market order on a "promising" company that they heard just entered the b2b arena with a wireless cure for cancer in china.

Yes, one day we will demand accountability for TV and Newspaper journalists, too.

In my opinion. . .

Any person with sufficient influence to clearly move a stock by their words, should be held accountable for their actions directly preceding and following their words. . . and should offer both a disclaimer about the risks and a disclosure of interests, both directly and indirectly. [And that includes us, since we who regularly post articles on message boards are the new media and the journalists of the new era!]. And if it makes their job more difficult, then their job is more difficult. And if all that dislclaiming is just too cumbersome, then stop trying to move stocks!!
