Christian groups are players, they do not dominate, or Pat Robertson would have been the nominee. You exaggerate both their wealth and influence. The Moral Majority had to close up shop because of declining revenue quite awhile back, and the Christian Coalition has declined precipitously since Ralph Reed went back to conventional political activism. Besides, they are not so monolithic, nor so bad, as you portray them.

I am strongly in favor of this. Mature, even if heated, discourse without personal attacks on individuals or groups,
and no focus on "getting even" for past conduct. Clean slate, one way or another.

Papa Bush tells JR. what to do. At least Jr. is supervised.
We hope you are well TP and that you enjoy a nice summer vacation - Mephisto

"Whether the former president has been influencing foreign policy at the White House has been a question of considerable curiosity in Washington — and in foreign capitals — with diplomats noting the disparity in knowledge and experience between father and son. The dispatch of the Gregg memo is the first concrete evidence of the elder Bush's hand in a specific policy arena, although at the time of the American spy plane incident in China, it was speculated that former President Bush was offering his son
informal counsel."
