Frankly, the fact that Vermont's economy depends on this dairy compact, nothing more than a Federal welfare program for New England dairy farmers, does not speak well for the independence and pride of New Englanders.

Thanks to the infantile tantrum of their Senator, Vermonters will now be able to prove to the rest of us that they can stand on their own two feet and earn an honest living without this handout from Federal Government.
