For me, freedom does not include having money extracted from the wallet, at gun point, of hard working individualistic farmers in the midwest and given to hard working individualistic farmers in Vermont.

But it is typical of the lose, lose, lose, win deals brokered by morons like Jeffords in the name of defending the people against Big Boogy Man Inc.

But hey, it works on people like you so, if your goal is getting a coshy job in D.C. ( as opposed to doing the right thing for the country ), I guess it could be considered smart. Except, expect things to get a little less coshy for Jeffords now.

That is why you conservatives are such BS when you talk about Freedom.

Conservatives like freedom. Freedom is the opportunity to do what you would like in life. Your view of freedom includes taking money from one group of law abiding citizens and giving it to another. That is anti-freedom for one group and freedom with a bonus for the other.

And I didn't see DMA say any farmers were scum by the way. To me it looks like he said they could make it on their own, and you obviously believe that they cannot. You are the one insulting the family farmers imo.

So you are for a repeal of the Estate Tax?

Nobody supports my lifestyle. Why should I support their inefficient lifestyle? If they can make it work on their own, then fine. But the subsidy is ridiculous. Try repealing estate taxes if you really want to help.

How do you think they would feel if they were charged a price for milk that reflected the true cost of production? Substitute wheat, corn, apples, any food you like. I don't think most would like to pay that price. We don't subsidize the farmer so much as we subsidize inexpensive food for the masses who can't be bothered to grow their own.
hmm... let those stock-traders go try and find a tomatoe and hunk of meat on their own, without a farmer to help? Now there's a thought.
