Lundin Oil holds talks with Iran
Finanstidningen (Sweden), May 23

Lundin Oil, the Swedish oil company which has been heavily criticised for its working practices in Sudan, is holding talks with Iran. The company wishes to begin oil production in the country and its managing director, Ian Lundin, has confirmed that an agreement may be signed soon. Lundin Oil has been in talks with Iran for quite some time.

The company is still active in the south of Sudan and results from test drilling on the Thar Jaht oil shelf are expected soon. Lundin Oil expects the results to be very positive.

Algeria to invest in oil, gas exploration in Sudan
SUNA, May 25

Khartoum, 25 May: The Algerian ambassador in Khartoum, Ahmad Bin Flese, has expressed the wish of his country to invest in the Sudan in the domains of oil and gas exploration and to transfer Algerian experience in the domain of petroleum industry to the country.

This came when Minister of Energy and Mining Dr Awad Ahmad Al-Jaz received at his office Thursday [24 May] the Algerian ambassador in Sudan. The meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries. They pointed out that the two countries have an immense natural resources, which prepare them to meet all the needs of the Arab nation.

Dr Al-Jaz welcomed the Algerian investments, affirming that Sudan is open for the Algerian investors and invited his Algerian counterpart to visit the Sudan.
