re: Sanders sale of shares - (amdroid spin warning)

"As of Feb. 26, Sanders beneficially owned 3,185,512 shares of Advanced Micro Devices common stock - a 1.01% stake - including options exercisable within 60 days to acquire 2,950,000 shares, according to the company's most recent proxy statement."

So my optimistic spin is that he needs the money to exercise his purchase option in the next 60 days .....

edit: DOH! that 60 days is gone already! OTOH don't you think he exercised those options and in fact owns 2.5m shares?

Neil, Re: Last time he did that, it was time to get out.

I just checked the insider sales and noticed that there are almost ten fold as much as some months ago. Looks like almost everyone is selling at AMD. Just for the last four weeks there are more than two dozen insider sales. Reminds me of the same time last year.

Sell in May and go away?

Andreas

Neil:

"Sanders is selling 400,000 shares. Just like it's part of his salary; he holds almost no AMD shares himself.

Last time he did that, it was time to get out."

Looks like some people (very few relatively) agree, based upon the past 2 days' volumes...

Neil: Sanders is selling 400,000 shares. Just like it's part of his salary; he holds almost no AMD shares himself.

AMD insiders + institutions seem to believe an awful lot in AMD these days.

Insider ownership
INTC: 7% (0.2% of insider shares were sold in the last 6 months)
AMD: 27% (0.5% of insider shares were sold in the last 6 months)

Institutional ownership
INTC: 47% (50% of float) 9.62M shares bought (net) by institutions prior Q to latest Q.
AMD: 61% (83% of float) 48.9M shares bought (net) by institutions prior Q to latest Q.
