Charley, which state was more significant to win -- and therefore more newsworhthy -- Georgia or Illiniois? And which one was more in doubt going into election night? Everyone knew that GW was going to win Georgia, Alabama, etc. The midwest states were one of the major battlegrounds, so I can understand -- if not approve of -- the networks motives in trying to announce those quickly. I do think things will be done differently next time. And I agree that like everything else having to do with Florida in the last election, the networks election night coverage was horrific.

BTW, with the Dems getting control of the Senate, expect to see a hearing fairly soon about the meat ax approach Florida to purging their voter rolls, and other curious things that happened in the sunshine state in connection with that election.
