The Democrats rose in power because they had a long term vision. They didn't say 20 years ago lets put gays in the military, lets attack the Boy Scouts, let's demonize any one who believes in God, let's get rid of Paul Revere from the school books and replace him with ______ etc etc. They went to work making coalitions and taking over the schools and steadily changing the frame work of the country to where the normal is now abnormal and right is now wrong.
To reverse this the Republicans can't afford to turn off moderates and continue to lose the female voter because of abortion issues. If they do they have no chance of reversing the steady slide. To me Bush made a major error and will pay the price for it.
I still am disappointed in the lack of ability to articulate what they believe in. The tax cut for the wealthiest few in this country is something that is hammered home every day by the Democrats. There is an answer to that and I have yet to hear it from Bush or anyone of the Republicans. The wealthiest in this country have shown the ability to grow capital and employ us all. The American people should be asked would they like those people to continue to grow the economy or to give it to Washington to be wasted.
