I am not familiar with setting up a page with @home. If you want to tryout a geocities.com site I can help you.

Sound files can be recorded but you need the software to do it. Before you download the software I should note that it takes alot of storage to store sound bites. I do not know about @home storage space alloted but with geocities I found the sound files take up to much of my alloted free space.

I tested dubit dubit.com some time ago. It worked well.

@Home should have a tutorial or help files (maybe FAQS) which will guide you through making a simple webpage. They also probably have a recommendation on what FTP utility to use. I use Cute FTP but have very limited knowledge of how to do stuff. I link my profile stuff to my page and post some things on it that are simple. The only pages I have uploaded were made in Word and saved as HTML. I'll be happy to help if you'd like, but don't expect much. Hopefully someone will come along to teach us both.

Here's a pretty good looking tutorial on html.
