But this is 11% of "total foreign reserves". i.e. the Russian gold reserve is 390 tonnes, which is very little out of a total of 32,000 tonnes worldwide. So even if Russia were to sell, it should have no great impact on the fundamental picture.

Interesting that Canada now has less than Thailand and Kazakhstan, and less than a quarter of Algeria's reserves! No wonder the loonie's worth only 64 cents :^)
