:) The best compliment I ever had was from a Northerner who said that our blueberries were as pretty as any he had seen in Maine. But that's the patience and the care in picking. And the watering. The heat here is hard on them. They like a lot of water, and cool sun, mixed with warmth. Seems almost silly to be so excited by a quart of large, round, very blue berries that I don't even like. But people like 'em. And it is such an extra treat now, to taste something grown in the sun, left to ripen, and picked by hand slowly with care... the very best of the best. I watch people eat them with an odd fasicnation. They are so happy. And I think they taste icky. Makes it cooler somehoe.
