Wow, 6k per person would be a fortune for each of them! I'd say each one will get 5 bucks at best and the rest of the money lines the pockets of the government officials.

You are correct. The amount that was discussed is just 30Mln $ of gold AND diamonds. This is 3.5 ton maximum (if ONLY GOLD is sold)

thanks for that chart. I skipped over the first time through -- I look at gold quoted in USD terms what is it doing in CDN --- was there a concrrent drop in the CDN $ that would explain that?
