Dear Ish: Good point, frankly I think its AWFUL that a family would lose a farm thats been in the family for generations, same happens in other businesses too. My brother and his wife inherited a plumbing company. As you might imagine a pluming company (this was commercial) has a lot of inventory and thus subject to a high BOOK VALUE but that aint cash. Borrowing to pay the Estate taxes ruined the profitablity of the plumbing company. Anyone think thats fair? jdn
