Energy is energy to the consumer, no matter how they get it. It is not enforcing the consumer to buy something; it is forcing business to do something responsible rather than just fight for every last penny at the expense of humankind. Government should balance safety & the environment w/ economic growth. It must determine for the nation and the world what is in our best interest overall, rather than looking to make particular companies as much money as possible. What really amazes me is when we have poeple like Bush who stomp on the economy and the environment and our national defense at the same time... all for the benefit of their big oil supporters.
