Bush will nominate a black or hispanic conservative with a clean resume and the senate will have to confirm. Because all they care about is abortion, that will be saved.

I do not think being an "ideologue" is inconsistent with holding public office. The Revolution was, among other things, an ideological war, in favor of representative over arbitrary government, and ultimately of a republican form of government. As for the practical matter, well, nothing much changes. The composition of the Senate is still pretty much evenly divided. We shall see how things go.
