...the chipmakers have spent $250 billion fighting over a $60 billion increase in chip sales. Katherine, That sounds almost unbelievable. Wouldn't it show as as huge decreases in operating margins of chip makers? I don't think I noticed such a trend. I'd think one way to get a handle on this is to look at billings data reported by SEMI versus the billings of SIA. The only problem is that one is global and the other is North American. Any ideas? ST
