The Memorial Day Holiday....was always a favorite when I was a child...fondly remember going to picnics over the river and through to my Grandparents place....played on giantic wooden swings (homemade, but looked like the commercial ones you see today), played in the fields, picked the vegies and fruits for dinners, sat and watched the birds and bugs, explored what flowers really looked like on the inside of the bud...and had for our picnic things like:
....fried chicken, potato salad, salad, fruit,
big BIG galvanized tub with a GIANT ice block in the middle of it, and
surrounded by Kool-Aid....raspeberry and orange was my favorite. We made
our own ice cream, Grandpa supervised the operation and if we were good, we
could turn the handle. (He was pretty smart....:D)

We all also said a prayer remembering the fallen
soldiers and sailors.

What I didn't know then was that we, all of us, have had MANY soldiers that
died for our country. Good thing for us that they had a child before we
died though, or we wouldn't be here.

Have a great weekend....full of sunshine, thankfulness for what we have, and
love.
